Englewood Beach lies within a 12.7 acre park funded largely by sales tax in the county. It is located at 2100 N Beach Road in Englewood, which is partly in both Sarasota and Charlotte counties.

A special feature of Englewood Beach is a 900-foot boardwalk with three covered lookout points. There is free parking, four picnic shelters, restrooms, showers, a playground, basketball court, volleyball courts and grills. There is 3000 feet of beach. No lifeguards. No tobacco, fires or dogs are allowed. Beach wheel chairs are free, and you can pay $10–20/hour to rent a pavilion with picnic tables, grill and a bathroom facility serving from ten to 128 people. There are basketball courts, volleyball nets, horseshoes and a fishing pier. Note: Parking is $0.75/hour.

Directly across the street from the beach parking are bars, restaurants and shops. There are art festivals and regular farmers’ market. Rent umbrellas and chairs pretty cheaply from the Beach Guy.

The last beach on Manasota Key, like Englewood, is not in Sarasota County. We’ll look at Stump Pass State Park in the next and last
section on beaches.
