Venice Municipal Beach
There’s free parking, lifeguards, food concession, shelters, two sand volleyball courts, picnic areas and a boardwalk. No tobacco, fires or dogs are allowed. The beach is right at the end of West Venice Avenue which leads into the center of town, about a ten-to-15 minute walk.
The Venice Fishing Pier is next door with additional parking. Join the drum circle about an hour and a half before sunset on Sundays. Main Street events are listed here. Considered by some as the shark tooth capital of the world, you can hunt the beach for fossilized prehistoric shark teeth here and at all Venice and further south on the Manasota Key beaches.
There is free group yoga with Elin on the beach in the mornings and sunset. Visit her Facebook page for schedules.

A feature is that you can walk to downtown Venice from the beach (or the reverse) in about ten minutes. Here’s a YouTube of a walk through downtown and at the beach. Or, it’s a three minute drive. If you want to go back-and-forth between bars/restaurants and the beach, then Englewood Beach may be your best option, as they are across the street form each other.
Venice is unique in that it has a dog friendly beach, which is described in the next section.
